Re-envisioning affordable housing in SF’s Sunnydale neighborhood.
A critical part of revitalizing the Sunnydale neighborhood in Visitacion Valley, Block 9 will contain 95 residential units in a five-story, 100% affordable housing community.
The Sunnydale masterplan combines mixed-income residential and multi-use facilities with open space to increase the neighborhood vibrancy, providing modern amenities and conveniences.
KMA is working in partnership with Van Meter Williams Pollack on the project, which is being developed by Mercy and Related California with the Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development.
The units will range in size from one bedroom to four bedrooms, and the underground garage will provide parking for 75 vehicles. The project will be GreenPoint Rated, featuring all-electric utilities. A large entry court acts as a centerpiece, connecting the community room and offices to the gracious two-story lobby. Two large landscaped courtyards at the podium level contain play structures, a barbecue area, stadium seating, and intimate gathering spaces.
